in columbia sc we still hire baggers/cashiers at $7.50 an hour.   The CEO was on TV talking about how Kroger company wide pays $10 an hour.   Thats a joke.  In greater Atlanta they start baggers out at $10 an hour but a district in that division only starts at $7.50 an hour.  Its honestly embarrassing to even off people that amount.

It has to be passed through your union first. Dayton/Cinci is starting at 10.

Baggers in LA get $13.50 and clerks get $21.50

The cost of living here is not that high.  My pension from Ralphs is $2200 a month. Not bad!! When social Security kicks in I will be in great shape

Starting pay here in Southwest Division is $9.50 (up from $7.35 after last year's new contract passing) and $10.00 with experience pay.

Say what?! Damn I should have moved to Cincy or Dayton. In the Columbus Division I started at $8.10 and I'm only just at $8.75 as Full-time deli.

Minimum wage here is $10.50, set to hit $12.00 in 2020.

It's amazing that minimum wage increases outpace the raise schedule.  Thanks union!

They are wanting to pull our contract early to negotiate starting wages in the Columbus division.

When I started out as a fuel center clerk in November 2015, I made 8.10 an hour. Most baggers now start at 8.30. I am in the Columbus Division. In our division, I just received a letter from UFCW that there will be negotiations on a massive wage increase for all hourly workers in the Columbus Division. We shall see what we shall see. I currently am working in the Deli making 8.85 an hour. My next raise should be 9.40.

In Houston, it's $8 for baggers and $8.50 for general clerks. More if you have previous experience. There's talk that GO wants to renegotiate the contract early to change it (next renewal is suppose to be 2020), but nothing concrete has happened yet. All of our local competitors in the area start higher than us. Even a major convenience store chain.
