So just got a letter from the union today talking about a possible increase in wages. But only if they can get a negotiations committee set up and agreements can be had. But if not we'll get more of the same til Aug. 2020.
My only thought is do these negotiations ever go anywhere, worthwhile? Or is it just all lip service?
They might be trying to get a similar contract to what we got in Cincy/Dayton. The starting wage here is now $10 an hour, and it's $11 for deli/bakery. They rushed the contract through to be honest.
Which union are you a member of? I was hoping ours would try getting it, but all we got was a $0.25 increase and that was after Cincinnati division got the $10/11 wage increase.

That would be great if that would be the change for sure. Cause many people I've talked to of late have been saying they haven't even been getting the 5 cent raises at all or anything since they were hired. Which is very messed up. Cause although it's not a lot. It's still a little something to make a difference at times, if you aren't working somewhere else at the same time or have a whole other job altogether. So even to get 10 bucks or 11 would be freaking amazing too.

Local 1059, Columbus Division. I have a feeling my store may fall into that 25 cent group as well too unfortunately. Cause as I mentioned before. If they aren't even bothering to keep up with the 5 cent raises for new hires now. I doubt they would leap from that aspect to really bumping things up to a whole dollar value or two.
