When people question about how much work can they get away with not doing I question how much they really want to work
No one wants to work. Unfortunately you need money to live. Wanting to get the most (in this case, money and benefits) for the least amount of cost (your labor and hours of your life) just makes good business sense. People hunt for deals in other parts of their lives, work is no different.
