Leaving Kroger and using it as a reference
Permalink

I heard that when you use Kroger as a reference all your HR manager can say is your start date and end date... may answer yes or no questions.

I am leaving Kroger and would like to know if management is even allowed to say anything about my work there.

if anyone knows if this is true and how to find out that would be great!!

If you had bad experiences there I wouldn't use them. And n e v e r buy that horse sh!t of 'we only tell starting and departure dates, never details'. I know for a fact some places will burn you. Especially these days, as there are more and more little bitches disguising themselves as grown adults in management positions.

What Anon above said is true. An old co-worker I knew was trying to get another job. Our old management team were a bunch of *******s and told the management of the other job to not hire them. So yeah, if you had a hard time at your store, the hell with the reference.

Do what I've done. If you have a long time frame to account for, have a friend or family member vouch that you worked for their (made up) company. Reference checkers aren't really wanting a full investigation, they just have a job to fill, and it's typically a pain, so by doing this you've made life easier on everyone

In reality ANY jobs is technically not allowed to discus your work behaviors or work ethic with another individual. If contacted they can only answer basic questions as "Would you rehire this individual?", "On a scale of 1-10 what score would you give about this individuals attendance?".
