On a recent topic/thread ("Both deli and meat department are 100 hours short") someone wrote the "Waste Integration" program has only lasted 6 months...........like it is already done and gone.
It's most certainly NOT gone and is supposed to be active in all divisions, all stores. It's actually called ZERO HUNGER ZERO WASTE but since it's an ongoing program for all departments, it's not something that starts and ends. The plan (which store management should be updating employees on with huddles and flyers posted near the time clocks) is to greatly reduce (I forget the percentage) overall waste by 2025. Everything from converting to reusable bags to reselling ALL usable produce is something Kroger is very serious about. It's just a lot of it is behind the scenes right now as they tweak certain aspects of the program. If you have a good store management team, this should be being communicated to you frequently. It's a big deal for Kroger.
