My department had a meeting to try to get everyone on the same page "LOL". In this meeting it was said that the store didn't have any problems until a few months ago (When I was transferred). That is so wrong because the District manager told me that the department looks better than it has in a long time and that seem to have the same issues, that they've had for the last 2 years. It was said that I need to show them how to do certain things. Nope, I'm not going to do that. The minute I even try to do that I get told I'm telling people what to do and being bossy.  I feel bad, because the Lead is holding people back and not training them the way they should. It is as if this person doesn't want anyone to know how to do their jobs, so that the Lead looks good and others look like they can't do anything right. No one is going to be on the same page unless they know everything about their job.

What department?

Some people are unable to comprehend simple things or learn too much at once.

As a department trainer, I take baby steps with everyone.  I don't want to spend time explaining complicated tasks until they understand the simple tasks and standards.

I have two that are sucking the life out of me with just simple tasks.....

Our job isn't that fukin complicated.

I agree! They also have to want to know how to do it, in order to learn it. We have a few people who don't want to learn how to do certain tasks. One just wants to serve customers (needs to be a cashier), another just wants to just fill the holes/put things away (needs to be a stocker) , one just wants to do Hot foods (but doesn't want to clean up), and another just wants to make sandwiches (needs to be the opener and prep), not one of them wants to fill out the paper work that needs to be completed. This would be nice if all 4 were working an entire shift together. That shift would run smoothly. That isn't the case, though. So the 3 that actually want to work and learn gets stuck with the majority of the work. That's not a team and is putting too much on the entire crew.

Deli! At least you take the time to train. Our Lead doesn't train. They watch the people serve customers and ask the ones who don't know how to do it (correctly) to train them. We then end up with no one knowing what they are doing.
