Don't get me wrong now. If I see a pretty girl wearing shorts at this time of the year, I'm not going to mind at all. But I just have to wonder, what in the hell is going through her mind to feel it's okay to wear shorts when it's so cold outside?

The other day I saw a guy wearing flip flops, shorts and a t-shirt! Summer is over... Hello?! confuse

Ah, the good ol' days of checking (i.e. standing around twiddling thumbs for half a day) and stocking tables in produce. The nice girls, as Don Vito liked to say. The icing on the cake was catching other women check out these women with what you know to be envious looks played off as disgust. Even stocking, back when freezer was a morning shift, sometimes I wondered if these sexily-clad ladies intentionally walk through the aisle twice only after noticing that they're not getting stares from you... it is a bit odd when they come through multiple times and don't even touch anything on the shelf. biggrin

Yeah, that is odd that they would do that. But... a beautiful woman wanting your attention? That is a blessing!

Going off on a slight tangent. The other day I noticed man checking out who was wearing a fancy suit with... get this... bell bottoms. Wide, flared bell bottoms! I had to go ask him if he was going to a late halloween party or something. He said nope, he just likes dressing that way and was hoping to bring bell bottoms back in style. I commended him on his quest!

I've noticed some customers in summer wear during cold days but then again some of my coworkers are inside wearing the fleece jackets. To each their own.

LOL, I'm so used to this in Ohio. I think it's the freaking standard norm. Seems like the colder it gets the more people I see in flip flops and shorts. Even some have the nerve to have a sweatshirt on and the shorts combo. Like what in the hell? And last year was no better either, as I was going on my break one day, and nearly bumped into a girl that had a sweatshirt on and the most DISTRESSED freaking jeans ever. Hell I don't even know why the company even bothered to make legs or anything to really hold the pants on the body as the holes were that huge. And she is all, "oh excuse me, gotta get me some coffee to warm up from being out there". And it's like um if you learned to put some warm CLOTHES ON, BEFORE leaving the house and a coat isn't out of the question. Then you wouldn't have to go running to Starbucks like a bat out of hell.

The fleece jacket is the ultimate in Bakery fashion must haves any time of the year, haha. Hell I swear that and my winter hat and gloves is more my work attire than the actual Kroger shirt is.

Fashion statement! LOl. I have a Utility Pro coat with a zip in fleece jacket for a liner. Keeps me warm outside and the safety neon yellow makes me easily seen. I don't need it inside, though. smile

Haha, true. But what I was getting at though in my last post, was that the jacket is just as essential as our box cutters. As we practically live in that freezer 24/7. From the time you clock in til the time you leave, if I'm honest. Add to that, the fact that my store is just plain chilly ALL year round! Like they only have heat in the bathroom and one or two odd ball corners of our cafe area. But overall and throughout the store? Not a lick of heat can be found anywhere! So add that chill to having to go in and out of the freezer so much....yea, I'm just not feeling like catching a cold all the time. So bundle up and keep it pushing is my advice for working in the bakery.

Apologies, m'lady. I probably went too far with the Don Vito joke. I only meant that I appreciated the beauty, especially while I've let myself put up with such a depressing job for so long; there were no creepy teenage thoughts behind the admiration. Sometimes little things like that just turn your mood around, you know? Surely women admire handsome men just the same?

Me again: regarding the shorts and sweatshirt thing... I do that sometimes. My legs just don't get as cold (at least as quickly) as the rest of me, and shorts are always more comfortable than pants.

Well apparently, somebody must not be getting enough of what they are so often speaking of. Most especially if they think any form of kindness or friendly conversation is in anyway relating or equating to sexual acts or favors. Me thinks that speaks volumes all on it's own.

Also, I am married,  so I dont have to worry about what others may think of how I dress, that doesn't mean j go out looking ratty, or means that I am not looking for Male attention anymore.
