Sure! I keep mine behind the prep table back in produce for when I need to leak. I drink about a pot of coffee before coming into work and need to piss voluminously, prolly six times before my first break. Doesn't make sense to keep going all the way across the floor to the bath room.

Yeah you have to poop in it since your managers won't allow you to use the restrooms for humans.

Yes, this is supposed to be an order for all department heads to keep a bucket nearby ( a five gallon plastic bucket) with their "grading papers" aka mini training manuals (I mean the Detailed Walk scorecards, good close sheets, etc), Temporarily Unavailable stickers, Make it Right stickers, pen, notebooks and so on.  The bucket itself is also useful for putting reshops in it.

But I'm not sure which Divisions are doing this right now. Is this Kroger-wide, or just a regional thing?

Sounds like a satire, but it is supposed to be REAL and going on right now!  So what stupid idea will the ding-dongs in Kroger Corporate think of next?????  Making dept heads walk around with a plastic pail is a type of subtle mockery and a slap in the face to hard-working associates.
