I requested my vacation time around July. But was denied the first time cause somebody with higher seniority got the week I wanted. But was able to get the spot a couple weeks later. But as for December... good luck.

If you're just going to make stupid comments find somewhere else to do I work overnight so most of my shift there are no customers there, we are off on our biggest night and we're getting 3 new people should offset the loss of 1 person tomorrow night from what I was told. Our work load won't be too big because of Christmas. They can say it will be, but it wont be any bigger than the week before or week after like someone else suggested. (from past experience.)

When you filled out the vacation schedule near the beginning of the year, management was given two weeks to look over the schedules for each department and look for any problems. If nothing was said to you at the time, then they have to give you the week you picked. It's not your fault they dropped the ball. If necessary, get the union involved.

Also, I was the one who posted the response about the vacation calendar and once the deadline for management to deny a vacation passes, they can't do anything about it. Also, vacations are allowed 52 weeks out of the year. Management can limit how many people go during a certain week but they have to allow at least one person in the store to go during any given week. If management messes up and forgets to tell the others who have chosen that week to choose a different week by the deadline, well then it's just too bad. They have to let those people take their vacation the week that they chose.
