when i first started in the pharmacy, it would be busy but not like it became
then kroger cut pharmacist hours, then it got extremely busy, then our store, a high-volume narcotics store, made some changes to the schedule, work flow and to electronic prescriptions (wasn't sure if this was company-wide or just our store) to relieve the pressure. but we also got stricter about the number of hours anyone could have.
to help the pharmacy survive over the summer, i worked forty or more hours every week, and in the meantime got snapped at for not knowing how to do something, despite a marked lack of training
it wasnt until a few weeks ago that we hired three more people, and they got put into product dispensing right away whereas i had to do the front or the drive-thru just about all the time, and even now they get back there and i am usually at the drive thru . i expressed my preference for drive thru vs the front because at the drive-thru, 'welcome to the jungle,' 'everybody dance now' etc are not right in your awareness, ******* customers you can walk away from, the mats are actually pressure-relief mats instead of milk crate mats.
anyway, the board of pharmacy in this state/region or whatever has cracked down on working out-of-ratio; a pharmacist can have three technicians and one intern. so the past two or so weeks we've been sending a bunch of people home
i wouldnt have thought pharmacy was so busy and that we would be taking so many steps throughout the day but i think it may be genuinely more than what the people out in the store do
now the new hires i think have been getting more hours than me, or this is my perception at work
but i have gotten complaints because im in the drive thru more than anyone besides maybe this other lady that started around the same time as i did, and we have to run both lanes when there arent enough people in product dispensing. so its like my lead technician has gotten this idea of me as someone who doesnt work urgently and is "so slow" because of a handful of customers. i want my free eye exam and pair of glasses next year and then i really think i want to do something else for a living. i've gone out of my way to try to learn how to do things but im just stuck behind the cash register usually and i dont think that is a good use of my human assets.
minimum wage in the state is going up, so i could try just about anything since we only make about 75 cents more than what it will be
i have felt so much resentment working back here but i have also been a smoker till recently.
