At my kroger-owned store, the "in-store audio network" plays, but I've heard the same Christmas playlist for the last 3 years now. So I'm not sure if it is also by the in-store audio network or not.
Anyway, the first song that I cannot find is a vocal version of "I'll be home for Christmas", at least I think it is. It sounds like it's straight out of an old christmas movie from the 40s or 50s, and it has a choir of men and women singing the melody of the song, but not the actual lyrics. I specifically remember the men singing a low harmony, the women singing a high one, the men follow up with another low one, the women sing another high melody but not quite as high as the first, and then some kind of bells or instrument plays the main melody of I'll be home for Christmas, and it sounds kind of poppy like its from an old record. And I'm kind of buzzed right now, so I am not 100% sure if at the end of the song, they actually sing the chorus verse of the song.... I'm super sorry if this is not helpful.
The second one is Carol of the bells, it's a no vocals version. There's a lot of harp and oboe, and it sounds like a choir might be singing in the background, just melodically no words. It always reminds me of Zelda, like if Zelda had Christmas music I could hear this version in it. Very minor, kind of mysterious.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. With my imagination I have not been able to find either song on YouTube. It's definitely not rock versions or bing crosby, or Lawrence welk. Already tried those....

Merry Christmas :D
Not sure if I am understanding what you mean in your first paragraph........it's a vocal, and the choir is singing the melody, but not the lyrics? What are they actually singing, la la la, wooo wooo, or do you mean the lyrics just aren't intelligible?
"I'll be Home for Christmas" has been covered by (probably) hundreds of artists over several decades. Some of the best known are Carpenters and Johnny Mathis versions.
our songs a lot of them are re-makes, like your whitney houston or mariah carey etc. i could tolerate some charlie brown but that loud sh!t that takes it way too seriously or makes it depressing is super triggering
anyone know that one song; i can't identify it, but i was told it is something like 'unto' something
some lady who is waaaaaay too emotional and serious and it sounded to me like a cat drowning. there's actually possibly two of them, a white lady and a black lady
i thought it might be carrie underwood i just dont know
krogers music functions as psychological torture in my opinion
So, could someone tell me why we have to hear a million different versions (instrumental and vocal) of "This Christmas", "Baby It's Cold Outside" (Notice they continue to play this one, even though it was banned on many stations across the country this year...I'm fine with it, since the controversies about the song were not present when the song was written...), "Winter Wonderland", "Rudolph...", "Run Run Rudolph", etc. It's getting tedious to hear the same ones every...single...year...Ugh! There are lots of other Christmas carols out there and yet you NEVER hear them...Will somebody PLEASE tell me why???

Because Kroger can't afford to pay for a quality music service. In Store Audio Network (that Kroger uses) and who brags they have '100 million listeners every week' has a poor playlist. Probably because they don't want to pay for a wider variety of popular / classic artists/songs, either at Christmas or throughout the year.
Today, the day after Christmas, we were back to our dreary same-ole-same-ole-same-ole music mix.......... stale as a loaf of Italian bread made the week before last from the Bakery.

Thanks for the replies. Couldn't find the exact versions I was looking for. That is just fitting though, the least annoying ones (imo anyway) were the ones I couldn't find. Guess I'll wait til next year.
And I apologize for the way I described the first song. (I drank lot of wine.) So it had a choir just singing a melody, but no actual verses. Lol.
Back to the crap today. Although occasionally I will hear a song that's not so bad. Summer by Vanilla, Alright by Young Summer, Heroes by Alesso, Madness by Muse, Sit Next To Me by Foster the People, Riptide by Vance Joy, to name a few.
And then I hear "We WeRe MoRe ThAn JuSt A sLiCe Of AmErIcAn PiE" three times a day.
