How to Leave UFCW Union 1996
Permalink

Hey, after working with Kroger for about 2 weeks, I was extremely persuaded to join the stupid union.. Now after I signed up, i'm honestly regretting that choice as it takes about $7 from my check, which I can use since i'm on a very limited budget. However, i've been trying to look for ways to quit the union but I can't find any way to quit the union (1996-ATL). Does anyone know how I can go and quit?

I had to talk to my union rep in the store and also call them directly. I don't know how it works in your division though. I got out of it after about two or three weeks. Good luck.

I was told after you sign the contract, the only way to leave the union is to leave Kroger.

I'm also in the Atlanta area UFCW-1996. The only way to leave is to write and mail a certified letter with in a month of your anniversary date of joining the union, stating that you request to leave the union.  Send to the union headquarters.  If you are not sure what your anniversary date is, just ask your AA, they are required to provide you with that information.
