So, I remember someone from Ralph's a while back ago saying that they knew who this guy was, so does anyone from Cali have any stories about this guy?
Everyone here knows how much of a jackass this guy is already. His newest thing is making sure that ALL departments have their 15 minute eschedule ratings to 75. Ok, sure, under normal circumstances, 75 isn't *that* hard to obtain. But if you have a department running 60 hours short, maybe it's a little more difficult.
In my store, schedules are now being faked to meet this rating. For example in the deli we have a part timer who can only work 5-9 through the week. But when you don't have her coming in until 5, the schedule says oh you're short staffed from 1pm to 5pm. So in order to please eschedule, they have her on paper as being 1-9, and then handwritten over it is 5-9. This is cheating the system, and is making the store looked better staffed than it is. I feel like this is all about making him look good, and it's shady as hell.
I contacted my union rep about it today, he said he's going to look into this one.
I remember hearing a story or I believe the same guy telling schedule writers to "make it work "and move people around. There was associates scheduled in multiple departments, 30 mins here, 15 mins there, 1 hours there....etc Again, we never want to fix the issue, just make it seem like "all is well". Wonder why there is such a disconnect between "policy" and "reality", which just makes the store associates jobs harder.
Best advice: Keep your head down and your mouth shut. By yelling fire, you're not going to change anything----except your job, maybe. This kind of sh!t happens everywhere all the time. So what. It doesn't directly affect you, so let it pass.
