They approach you, while yelling in excitement, and then before you know it, you're reaching for your stomach. But not with the intention of hitting you, just a fake punch. They don't hit you at all, but they came very close to your stomach.
I mean, what's Kroger's policy in regards to self defense?
Just raise your fists in a defensive action. When they get mad and ask "what's your problem" just say you are getting ready to defend yourself if need be. And that you WILL do so and have NO problem doing so as well.
We had a similar situation happen in our store several years ago. Customer threatened to punch one of our (at the time) pregnant employees-manager on duty told the person to leave and never come back.
OP has a valid point which also leads me to question what the policy is on fighting in general. Say an employee hits you, are you allowed to hit back or is "zero tolerance" going to hurt you here as well? It would be a shame if you weren't allowed to defend yourself. You're supposed to just take a beating or what?
