Customers not giving enough room for the cashier then being disrespectful
Permalink

Any one else noticing that an increasing number of rude customers insist on standing shoulder to shoulder with the cashier in the store as you're trying to process their order then being disrespectful through the entire order?  Instead of going to the customer side they rudely shove you aside and try to read the computer screen from the cashier side.  If this continues to accelerate I'm calling management the next time someone shoves me aside disrespectfully.  Or refuses to give the cashier adequate room to move.  The lady that did this yesterday refused to move and I was steeping on the child's feet because he wanted to be right next to her.  Then she started giving me crap about how it was my fault.  Probably another parent unfit to be a parent that shouldn't of even been allowed to have children.  These damn check stands are already not ergonomically friendly.  The last thing you inconsiderate people need to do is to make it worse.  This is incredibly disrespectful to the cashier and you could find your self with out service the next time you do it.

Customers need to be aware that shoving can be considered an act of assault if done just right because it's unwanted physical contact.  One lady was ignoramus enough to forget her child after she processed the order while standing shoulder to shoulder next to me the whole time. She was half way out the door before she realized she forgot two of two child.

Customers shouldnt be behind the register. If they insist on doing the job for us, they should be at self checkout.

No one understands the concept of personal space or respect for fellow people anymore. You shouldnt be breathing down an employee's neck, touching them or invading their personal space. They need to let us do our jobs and if they dont like it, why are they here? Self checkout is a thing. Shipt,Instacart and other delivery services are a thing too.

It's common knowledge that kroger associates are paid so little, so low they steal at any chance they get. The customer wouldnt have to be so up in your faces if they didn't have to worry about their credit being stolen. DEAL WITH IT

I NEVER let a customer get so close I can count the hairs in their nose and whatnot. That will NEVER happen. EVER. When I run register from time to time, I deliberately make it difficult for any customer to get in my personal space by nonchalantly blocking them without "meaning to." After a few angry sighs, they usually realize it's not happening, they go back where they were.

Are you serious? No one inputs credit card numbers manually anymore. The customers need to do it themselves on the pin pads. We arent allowed to enter any card other than Food Stamps. Its disrespectful and rude to touch someone without permission or invade their personal space. Again, customers should not be behind the register and breathing down our necks. I am not stealing anything, Im trying to do my job to help you pay and get out of the store, so letting employees work is a lot more helpful. You seem awfully paranoid and distrustful, people need to just back off and give us space so we can work.
