Kroger Corporate reminds me of the old fable "Clever Hans"

Especially concerning these dumb new tasks such as writing "P2" in red marker on all the boxes. Or counting everything in the freezer.  Or meaningless paperwork (TOOLS!!!!!!) that wastes so much time that we fall behind in doing things that really matter in pleasing the customers and increasing our sales.  Or forcing us to walk back and forth all day, going to the backroom to get one box of gloves at a time. It's only a matter of time before they think of something different........THEN......."no, that old idea was bad............here's one that is really GOOD!!!"

..... reminds me of the classic story "CLEVER HANS",  Hans was so dumb,   he keeps on trying to follow the advice of his Mom, but is just totally clueless.

From now on, you use the time sheets if you work on two or more job
codes and you need the extra columns to fit it all in. Otherwise, use
the old time sheets...

Orwell's "1984" is what always comes to my mind.

A stingy farmer is reviewing his bills and is upset he spends so much money on horse feed.

He decides to just train his horse to eat less.

At first, it goes great.  The farmer saves a lot of money, the formerly overweight horse slims down, and even has more energy.

Emboldened by his success, the farmer decides to train his horse not to eat at all.

He feeds his horse a bit less every day until he reaches his goal.

The horse starves to death, and the farmer is absolutely furious.

"I finally got that horse all trained up, and he dies on me!  What a worthless horse!  Oh well, I guess I'll just train the chickens to eat less."

Hey that is a very good "PARABLE" or "TYPE" of what appears to be our new standard Kroger Business Model!!!!!!!   Ha Ha!!  Wish I had thought of it.
