You don't want to work in the Deli. If you recently got hired for that position quit now, before you lose your mind. The Deli is the worst department in the company. They put the laziest people in charge. No one is ever trained properly. MANAGEMENT DOESN'T CARE about those who actually work. Management back ups the laziest ones and belittles the hardest working. The people back there spend their time gossiping and doing as little as possible. They leave all the heavy work to the last person of the day. The employees don't clean their fryers properly. The Deli is always out of something, because the lazy Leads and FSMs do not know how to do inventory properly. Leads do not get in written up for anything. They don't have to take responsibility for their faults. They blame everyone else and constantly threaten people that they are going to get fired. IT IS THE WORST DEPARTMENT!
The deli at my store is used as a punishment department, except all it really does is train employees for Walmart's deli. I hear it pays significantly better (even without experience pay).
