They've since cut my hours! I gave them my email address so they could contact me but they haven't emailed yet. I really need those hours they cut, but I refuse to give them my number because they'll sell it to someone who is sure to harass me. My time off is my time but I need the hours so how do I Make sure they'll email me
Pretty sure this is a troll OP, but for those who don't give your coworkers their phone numbers for whatever dumb reason...
When they need someone, it's usually an emergency when someone called in, and they need to know NOW. Not 10 hrs later, when you check your emails. If you want hours, make yourself reachable.
If they cut your hours, it's because they need people they can rely on.
No, I'm not management. Working in department, and I know how frustrating it can be when someone calls out at last minute and you scramble to find someone to cover their shift. And then they dodge your calls, when all they would need to do is answer and say they can't come in, so you can call someone else.

What a troll response. pay no attention to this pillow biter op!
I usually answer my phone when Kroger calls me. That way I can get more hours. I can usually reschedule my fishing trip or hang out at another time. Why the hell would Kroger WASTE time and email someone when they can call them if they have their number? If you dont want to come in, just dont answer your phone, but then don't b*tch about lack of hours.

if they didn't give them my number, I would like them to email me if they need me. That way I'm not bothered on my personal time. If I see the email, I will call them back and let them know.

Lol their gonna give you the bare minimum hours and when you plea and beg for more their gonna pretty much say go **** yourself lolol
As I understand it if you are classified as Full Time, i.e. 24/7 availability, you are required to provide a contact number. I am part time and I don't have a phone but when I did. I can count on one hand the number of times Kroger called me. I basically told my FES that once I leave the store, what I do off the clock is none of anyone's business.
