I've been a cashier for 5 months, and I've felt worse here than I've ever felt in any other job. The people are horrible, and treat you like you're subhuman trash. Everyday I come here I lose a piece of my soul.

Full or part time? Take extra days off look elsewhere for a job. And when you have it locked in then you can be the biggest ******* cashier ever cause you know you got another job and threatening to fire you will be the joke on them

Kroger collects those pieces and sells them overseas.
How else do you think they can offer a gallon of milk for $1.99?
Welcome to the wonderful world of retail where youre treated like sh.it every day and sub par to second class. Suggest you get a masters bachelor degree in anything if you want to get away from this garbage.

Youll never get that 10 cent raise with that attitude. Remember highly satisfied customers made your check possible.

Front end sh!t eater is clueless op, just like the customers you deal with
Or for a realistic answer if you don't wanna go on a job search you could try to transfer departments. Customers are annoying if you're in grocery cause they can be in your way or distract you but since you're actually on the floor and have a knowledge of missing items being on end caps or displays or distro'd in the backroom you can actually solve problems and they appreciate it (80% of the time) where as if you're a cashier you often time have no knowledge of what's going on in the actual store to really help anybody and the customer is already pissy by the time they get to you
So many times when I was a cashier did I have customers get mad at me for a certain sale item being gone only to find out later when grocery shopping the end cap was full.
Grocery, dairy, produce, or frozen at least you can hide in the backroom and scream if the stress gets to you
Remember it can always be worse. You could be working in the fuel center. A couple shifts of the fuel center and customers screaming at you cause their family members used their phone number to steal their fuel points you'll wish you were inside.
Also customer is always right, so just make it right, to avoid a fight
Cause it's not our money or our profit so just give things away for free
unless you have that customer that is mad at you for giving them something for free in which case humanity is a mistake
