Why is it that the cut FRUIT ("Fresh Kitchen" pre-pack in the Produce Dept) Cannot be marked down, but the veggies can??

I would like to know the true, exact reason why this is mandated by Corporate. If I use my RF scanner and try to mark down any of the cut  fruit that is set to expire within the next two days, I am prohibited from doing so. SO........much if it ends up having to be pulled........wasted product. Thrown away or put in the Compost. Sometimes, it can be donated but Dare to Care only comes 2 days a week.    Sad.

Comments anyone?? Thank you.

They don't want it to be a commodity item for people that specifically shops for discounted item and they are trying to portray a fresh imagine by not selling marked down cf

Yes, cut fruit might break down faster, but it should be marked down to eliminate waste and re-coop some $$. People are not expecting a marked down item to last days, most I would believe consume it the same day or next. If the same item is marked down daily, the order will most likely shrink
