Does the system know the difference between a scanned barcode verses typing the barcode in?

Yeah, there is a "Manual Input" tag for produce PLUs if someone were to go looking through the logs. The system won't buzz you for it but a manager might look at it and cry about it as "something slowing you down".

That is such bull. I'm so glad I'm not on register all the time. If it weren't for Uscan, I'd have quit this place by now.

Any items entered on register is recorded by its "entry mode", "Scanned", "Manually Entered"..etc  Produce can also be tracked by PLU or UPC, scanning a UPC records a 11 digit UPC, manually entering a UPC would record the 4/5 digit number.  The only reason its a priority is because of Cashiers not entering the correct PLU's for the differing items.  How would you know the difference between a Organic Red Apple and a Non-Organic Red Apple by sight only.....

I'm not looking forward to the days when corporations will start using that creepy facial recognition stuff to target ads to you on various screens as you walk about the city that is filled with cameras.
