Time clock offline = short hours? :(
Permalink

Anyone only have issues with their time clock hours matching their scheduled pay when the time clock goes off line? Other than that my punches are right on with my scheduled hours. The last several times the time clock went off line my hours were off. Some nights it goes off line between 10p-11p otherwise always midnight. When ever it goes off line before 11 pm it never stores my punches correctly. I swear I punched on time and when I check the next day it's always short.  Each time this happens I have to fill out an over ride correction.

Our time clock goes "off line" every Wednesday morning (or is it very late Tuesday night?, I'm not sure). Not sure of the exact stretch of time it is offline, but if I clock in early on Wed morning (like 3 AM) I always get that notice.    I never noticed it always happened on THAT particular day until someone pointed it out to me.

Does anyone know exactly why this happens on that day?

always and I can't stress that enough, if you don't usually work a set number of hours (40, 32, etc) write down how many hours you worked on a given day.  My hours vary significantly week to week...might be 8 one week, 40 the next, I'm late occasionally and sometimes I work over (oh no!).  At the end of the day, I'll write down what I worked...maybe 815-445 (I was late) but that still= 8 hour shift.  If I'm late and don't stay to make it up, it might be 815-430 (7.75 hours that day).  This way I can check it with pay stub and solve any discrepancies.  IDK about time clock, I only occasionally see ours with that status.  That's yet another reason to write your hours down...you don't want to get shorted
