This week I'm scheduled 40 hours over 6 days. Monday to Saturday. Do I get OT for that 6th day on Saturday?
No because you're only working 40 hours. You would only get overtime if you worked over 40 hours (like when full timers work 48 hours over 6 days)
Actually that depends on your contract. Clerks are suppose to get paid OT on the 6th day, over time or not. But different departments and distrcts have different contracts. So, I'd call your union and ask them.
No o.t. The work week is Sun - Sat. If you work Sun = no over time. Ot is now if you work 8+ days in a row. Sorry but you're stuck with a 6 day work week. You'll loose most of your 6 day to taxes. Man it up and just work it. Be more careful in the future to not set your self up for a 6+ day work week. Just do your 40 and call it good. It's not worth it in this company. Your hard work will fall apart in 48 hrs after you leave the area/department. Why even bother. Just show up to get paid and leave. It's like earning Journeyman time and a third (if you're contracted into it) and realizing you only get to keep $40 of the $215 day. Not worth it.
