Walkie Talkies at your store
Permalink

So our store has these Walkie Talkies that look like FRS Radio's. But these are not FRS Radio's. These radio's can only be used legally with a FCC license. My question is who holds the License? I have found the Radio Frequencies the ones at my store uses. I think the License is $75.00 a year? The ones we have are 4 channels I am not sure if it is $75.00 a year for each channel. These are easy to program if you know how I used a scanner to find the Frequency. I have tinkered with Radio's on and off since I was like 13 and know they require a License they are analog and operate in UHF 460-470 MHZ Band. Oh and they are very useful helping customers and tracking a shoplifter this was just a question who holds the License? Maybe each store has to pay the fee?

I don't know for sure but I would assume the company pays a bulk price for access to the range. I say this because the FCC parts out ranges at auction and companies will bid on them. (mostly ISPs)

OK maybe so I order some Walkie Talkie's from Amazon these can be programmed for the channels my store uses. But when I get the programming kit I am going to program to FRS band. I thought about programming them with the store radio's and taking my own radio everyday. But that would be illegal.

THIS ^. i386 proves literally every time he posts something that just because he can summon some large, techno-savy words and manage to even string them together in some cohesive manner, does NOT mean his I.Q. is one notch above 92. Go sit down and eat your boogers, 386.
