What have you broken at your store in anger?

if you aren't angry at work at least 75% of the time, you must love your job.  I'm mad just thinking about going in this weekend...it's the weekend...the good jobs are off on weekends (banks, etc).

Anyway in my fits of rage I have slammed the phone on a moron employee so much that it broke the phone.  The kroger engineer who came to "install" the new one was none too happy with me.  I didn't say anything but I was thinking "shut up and plug that phone in for $50 an hour while I bust my ass for $10/hr"

Desk drawer wouldn't open for having been hit with too many power jacks so I picked it up by the handle in a fit of rage and everything on the desk went into the floor (there isn't supposed to be anything on that particular desk anyway so I did them a favor by cleaning it).  Needless to say I got the drawer open but it looks like **** now.

Everytime I'm walking in and the automatic sliding doors don't open fast enough, I want to slam them open.  Darn it I'm trying to get to work!

your turn

I think you need to see a counselor to deal with your anger management issues.

That happens to me all the time. Doesn't make me want to smash them, though. Just a lazy sensor. Can't fault it for that.

Hmm, I guess I must love my job... smile

Never broken anything, but one time I ripped up a write up in front of the manager. They weren't too happy about that.

Also, when they switched the deli's closing time from 9 to 10, they got us new signs with our hours. I threw it away, whenever I closed I stop taking customers at 9 so we had time to clean, regardless of what management was trying to force us to do. The sign got put back up with a note on the back telling people not to move it and threatening us that we're on camera. A boy was quitting a few days later and I told him to throw it in the trash, since he'd be gone. He did. It took them over a month before they noticed that sign was missing. They replaced it. A week later someone else was quitting and I told her to throw it out, she did. They didn't replace it for almost half a year. I kept doing that until I just changed my schedule so I wouldn't have to close anymore.

I once slammed the RF scanner into a shelf edge and it broke the little glass that the light passes through. I just said I dropped it and it was sent out for repair/replacement. So sick of the ****ty software.

I punched a U-Scan screen in front of a customer once. Luckily, the customer understood my justified anger at those freaking machines always glitching up or freezing! no

We had a customer punch the screen and break it. Then he started crying and apologizing. Must have been drunk. Or just trying to get out of police visit and paying for it.
