alarms on the entrance and exit doors

wtf is the point of the beeper things when you come in and out of the store.  I've never seen an associate stop someone after one goes off, you know to check their receipt like wal mart does.  At best , they're annoying.  They confuse the customer.  What's the point?

Even worse:

Now we have to log it every single time it goes off.  The SCO attendant has to fill out the form until the other door is closed in the evening, then the guard usually does it.

Just about every entry is "unexplained" while SCO customers freak out about having to wait an additional 10 seconds.  Nice.  And then there's the idiots who just stand in the door while it goes off over and over.  It's a continuous struggle not to just Sparta kick them through the door.

I believe they are a general deterrent that is standard in every retail establishment in the industry. Associates aren't allowed to stop people for huge legal reasons. Now, in my store, there's usually a security guard at the door or near the door, in case stuff like that happens. But, 98% of the time, the alarm goes off for no significant reason, things like meat packs, or some cashier forgot to remove the security tag on a liquor bottle that the customer paid for from the liquor store. The other 2% of the time, the guard will be waiting at the door because LP would have already been waiting for a thief to make their escape cause they've been watching them on camera the whole time.

Interesting... in our store, we don't have to fill out any of that ****. Just press a couple buttons to turn it off. Nobody even cares about the code that's punched in.
