why is that? When a big wig or even a measly corporate worm comes in, nobody tells it how it is. All they want to do is pump in the hours to make it look pretty and pretend this is how it is every day when that couldn't be further from the truth. In all my years, all I've heard about any minor gripes is "gee I wish I could do something about it" well...tell your boss...and if he doesn't listen, tell your boss's boss. I've always hated this about Kroger. They'll blow up hours and OT for a visit and then conditions are terrible in the weeks after while they make up labor costs. The store should look pretty much the same when a visitor is coming as it does for your regular customers. That's how I feel and that's how I run my dept. And you know what, I generally don't have to worry about visits. They walk right on by and go rage at somebody else's mess.

That's exactly how I feel about it. It takes so little effort to maintain a clean area on a regular basis than it does to wait months and months for it to collect huge amounts of dirt and grime and then try to clean up all the garbage and disarray for a special event that's happening tomorrow.
Innovators, artisans, citizens, political activist have all got skin in the game and that makes the difference but Corp execs, bankers, theoreticians, journalists and Kroger managers dont.
If you don't have management/leadership training you'll be a perfect fit as a Kroger manager.
They have balls and brains enough to keep making their paper, you dick head. OF COURSE they don't fire off their mouths to their superiors----that's a big reason behind how they got to be YOUR superior. You don't bite the hand that feeds you, and you don't sh!t where you eat. Everybody in that corporation knows what the problems are; they're juggling things in such a way to keep bringing in the only detail important to that business:

Someone spoke up out of his group with questions. After the meeting, big shot walked over to him and whispered "krogers no longer needs your services". The official word was they quit to pursue other opportunities.
Thats why management won't speak up. No idea why you guys don't. I called. My division president a ****ing idiot when his suggestion for wage decrease was to work another day at a store.
I was furious, asked him how? He seemed confused. Told him. I'm working 6 and on call for the 7th, then asked why he wants me to work a 8th day, basically free, since in just bring my wage back.
I quit days after and now work with the public again. I get to shoot the **** alot, so when people ask why I left, I'm honest, show them the pictures of food safety and explain what they did to the wages vs what they say they did.
Im like 5 minutes outside of their head office too. Lol. I get a front row seat to Kroger collapseing itself.

Sounds like what they call a "walk". Everything in the store needs to be put together perfect down to the contradictions in the hope of making these thugs feel big. As they pass though everyone is required to work furiously even if no customers, just find some last minute stuff to be perfecting. Why? They are psychos. Real, honest to goodness mentally ill and a danger to the community psychos. Don't apply and keep these stores out of your town.

I been quite a **** talking my entire life. Got me roughed up and other guys roughed up too.
Any chance I got I made them feel small and out of control.
Example: woman in corporate gets sick over blood. Was walking her one day and told her that we cleaned the back room and no blood. We walked in and I had it splashed all over the saw and walls and grinder. She ran out, but had to shuffle past me as we danced back and forth trying to figure out how. To get her through the door.
Another good one was asking our district supervisor if he was really transfered for assaulting(true) a underage girl(false) in front of managers. He quickly said it was mutual and clarified it was a guy and claimed the guy assaulted him.
I asked him "what the hell could you do to a guy to make him throw away his career and income?"
I was told leave, I went back to my department and it was never mentioned.
Anyone ever get on me about how long a task was taking, I'd ask them to show me how to do it in a more efficiently and timely order. To take a day and come down and work with me, let shadow you, so I can be as good as you. I want to be good at this!
