It's all about priorities and what matters most

One of the most bizarre customers to ever grace my Uscan. Cart FULL of groceries that they needed a second cart to put the bags. They're eating potato chips that they're spilling all over the floor (wonder if they paid for them). They ask me for help scanning their items (which means I'm now their personal cashier who has to scan and bag everything for them). They're on their phone with their family or whatever, and they just learn of the possibility that their son has been gunned down and probably is being sent to the hospital.

So what does this lady do? Yep, you guessed it. She tells me to hurry up and keep scanning cause it's an emergency. Yes, an emergency. Forget about your possibly critically wounded son. No. What's more important here is that you continue checking out and get all of your cart full of groceries. Yes, that is top priority right now... The food... Yes. Your son can wait.

OMFG lady, forget the ****ing groceries and GTFO out of the store and run to help your SON WHO IS PROBABLY ABOUT TO DIE!!!

And yes, ladies and gentlemen... food stamps.

You cannot make this **** up.

I wonder if her son was still alive when she finally got to the hospital. Because that is where he would be if mom decided that he could wait.disbelief

Was she black?  If so, then she's probably used to it.  All those people ever do is go around shooting each other.  Every night on the news there's always at least one story about one black shooting another black.

I meant the kid's condition not location. I didn't realize how the last post looked until I reread it.

Meh, no need to clarify something that doesn't really need clarification.
