Once again, I am so glad our front end is so loud that I don't hear any of those ads and songs. I don't know how you guys stay sane having to listen to that.

Sometimes the music is pretty good. I like the old songs like Mr. Sandman and Papa loves mambo.

They don't play that at our store. Those were ONLY on the special playlist for Senior Citizen's day on Thursdays only (previously Wednesdays). Do you mean to tell me they play that tiny selection of old oldies at your store EVERY day??

One day I came in a little early and while I was waiting to start I heard "Six Days on the Road." Talk about a gem of a tune. Haven't heard it again since. That's the audio network for you.

sounds like a song for fags
Naw you just don't know what real music is. I listen to mostly old country I don't mean this iHeart's radio The Bull Icons that is not classic country. I mean more Western country from like the 1940's and 1950's up to the 1970's. I do like some new Country but not much cannot stand most of the Country they call Country it just ain't Country.

Very True........most of the "Country" after, say, 1990 is just Rock with a few "country" or twangy sounds inserted here and there to satisfy those people who are too dumb to know that they are not listening to country music. And all that constant background "cacophony" (that ends up sounding something like loud background static between stations on an old analog radio) which has become almost a "requirement" with most new music, including Rock, socalled "Christian" Rock, "Country" and a lot of Alternative rock.
Even country nowadays is starting to buy into the Autotune crap (which is required on all modern "pop" and rap) so no one there sounds exactly like a human being.......they are half human, half machine, with an odd tinny voice.
To hear real people singing with their normal, real voices you (almost) have to hear music from the late 1970s and before.

And I like some Christian music just mostly the older Christian and old time Gospel music. But hardly none of this new modern stuff.
Why play the same thing over and over all day long?
Presumably, it's cheaper to license just a few hours of disposable trash music. The cheaper and more disposable, the better. I'm sure they have the "Best of Intentions", if you get my drift.
Kroger being Kroger, I'm downright shocked that it doesn't seem to be some insider nonsense.
But it doesn't look like it. Somehow Walmart and Kohls and apparently every single other company in the continental USA seems to have contracted with Instore Audio Network. It's downright horrifying.

Are you sure about Walmart? They seem to have a quite different playlist........I thought they had their own "Walmart audio service" or whatever they call it.
I DO know for a fact that Meijer has In Store Audio Network. In fact, the same voice-over ad girl (that slightly nasal voice is so recognizable) is heard frequently, and she brags how wonderful Meijer is on their ad spots. (Wait, I thought she liked Kroger the best!
