Rehire eligibility

Can anyone tell me what the policy says about rehire eligibility? I have a strong performance record, and I quit, giving more than 2 weeks notice, but my boss told me that my last day was earlier than I had offered, and made me ineligible for rehire. Is there a policy that says when an employee can be made ineligible?

I have no disciplinary action, and I am a good employee. I don't get it.

Just re apply at a Kroger that you won't be recognized if you are able to.  When they check your application, it will show whether you were actually flagged as non rehirable.  Some managers forget to follow thru and finish things.  Like have a person flagged as non rehirable.  You would probably need someone shady in IT to remove the flag if it is there.  If you apply at another store, I wouldn't mention about the manager saying you were non rehirable.  Let the hiring manager figure it out on their own.

My nephew was fired for attendance.  He was marked as "non rehirable".  He was hired 2 years later.  Even got reasonable shifts.  The store manager really liked him as an employee.  But, another employee got jealous and complained to HR.  HR checked and he wasn't supposed to be rehired so they let him go.

I would reapply if you want to. At a different store. Leaving earlier than your last date stated is not a good enough reason to be flagged. Even potential new managers my bypass the flag and hire anyway. However if HR finds out and decides to be a jerk about it, then it may be bye-bye for you. Chances are you should be ok for rehire. Just dont mention the no rehire flag. Even pretend you had no idea. Let the hiring manager sort that one out.

Had the same issue. I was rehired two years ago. My previous SD was mad because he was convinced I left a day early. Of course he neglected to mention that I worked 17 days in a row including July 4th. Oh well his attempt to keep me out failed.
