OK, it's official, you can now make your own Kroji. I suppose this is only for employees who are part of the "Kroger system" and can access the home page at Feed.Kroger.com. (?) I was curious about all the hype, so I checked it out to satisfy my curiosity.
Go to the feed.Kroger.com home page, (and assuming it signs you on properly) look for your "HELLO" name/profile circle icon on the top right of the page, click on it and a new window menu includes "KROJI MAKER". That takes you to a page where you can "make your own Kroji".
I have mixed feelings about this. Yes, the whole thing seems really silly and childish. But, it is also kinda cute in a nerdy way. There are some problems in my opinion.......the choices you have to "make" your own Kroji are very, very limited. Basically, you are using a very simple computer graphics program to "create" a picture of a Kroji, choosing from a selection of attributes such as Hair color, color tone of the skin on the face, hair style (very limited, and they don't look very realistic of course), choice of clothes/apron, etc. This is almost like a simple modernized cyberversion of the vintage "Paper Dolls" that were popular in years past. If you don't know what paper dolls are, ask your Grandmother or Great Grandmother!
After you are finished, it prompts you to DOWNLOAD and share the picture with other employees. Not sure what that was going to do exactly, so I skipped that step, and just used my mouse to copy and save the photo directly to my computer. (Don't know about if you are viewing that page on a smartphone - I use my computer at home for Kroger stuff). Anyone can then just upload or email the pic to anyone, anywhere.
I'm wondering if this will cause problems unforeseen by Kroger....... once a "Kroji" pic is made, it can be "tweaked" and used to create any number of memes.
With the few choices for hair color, eyes, with or without glasses, etc, it doesn't seem like there would be more than a few thousand total variations at the most, even accounting for all possible combinations. For instance, if you want your Kroji to look as much like you as possible, and you are a blonde girl with short hair, blue eyes, glasses, and want the normal blue apron, you are going to look almost identical to lots of other Krojis that were created by other people (with the same general look) in other stores, divisions or banners in other states.

I no longer work for kroger even though one of the troll's insist I do. I got some coupons in the mail today with this on the envelope.
I think those are for employee's. And I am still getting employee discount.
