The same gossip, rumors and then the video from YouTube which gives it some credibility.

With the number of ASM departures, I would believe a ASM layoff might not be happening.

I know of at least one who was told to resign.

The next layoffs may be more targeted and covert. Company announcements of more layoffs may spook investors and the workers they want to keep

I overheard two of my comanagers today talking about how they want co's to work all mornings and have MOD's close at night. Idk what is going on here but no wonder nothing is done on second shift.

It wouldn't be a surprise, with lower numbers of ASM's in each store, the 2nd shift is basically there to "sustain" the store conditions.  With stores only having 2-3 ASM's, I could see MOD in charges 5pm-Close, remember ASM's need a work-life balance :)

It's coming soon, because store management in my store has been trying to get department heads to learn and start being MOD.  Thats the 1st step in firing Co-managers is to have department heads cover the missing shifts.

I feel bad for the ASM's already, but do they really think that we are going to "Get a good close" while department heads and CL supervisors are stuck being MOD every night? This company is imploding.

We have an FES that is training for MOD in  our store-will they get additional pay as one?

To my knowledge, MODs dont make anything extra, except perhaps regular overtime. Your contract may be different.

In the Local 1996 (atlanta) MODs get a 50 cent premium each hour on MOD shift

In Local 1996 the union is warning associates not to take on MOD shifts.  The company is definitely moving to more MOD shifts with store managers recruiting people.  There's a district training class and certification program.  It sounds like you basically become an ASM with much more responsibility without the pay and you won't have time in your department because you're busy checking on store conditions all shift.

Well, Feb 2nd came and went and I haven't heard about any mass firings. I do still think it will be happening based on some comments I've over heard by out of store upper management. They are currently accessing all ASM's. Not for sure how many company wide and when it will happen. All I know is if a couple lazy ones I know are still here after it happens and some I know who work their butts off are let go, then I know for sure it isn't about performance. My guess would be if your put on a 30 day improvement plan you are a target and on your way out.
