Did Kroger overhire on ASM's?

It seemed at least in the Local 1996 are that there was a training class every week. But I know of 3 ASMs that have quit-2 went back to old jobs at Home Depot and one started a manager job at Publlix-apparently he came in to visit us (I was off that day) and said he was making more money at Publlix. I wonder what they are paying their store managers.

They have so many classes because not many stick around because the company is a mess.

The ASM got a store manager job at Publix? Their policy is to only hire from inside for SM and I think asm. They do hire from outside up to department assistants... I guess like other companies - when they need someone they need someone. Publix pays their SM very well btw/ Glassdoor it.

What area is Publix hiring external asm/SM?

Correct. Their training programs are generally abysmal too.

Average annual earnings for our management positions are as follows: $50,000 for assistant department managers. $70,000 for department managers. $87,000 for assistant store managers. $124,000 for store managers. Thats from their own corporate site.

From what Ive looked up on their corporate site and seen on Reddit-they dont hire store ASM or SM externals for those roles  but do hire assistant department head managers who can make 50k and then move up inside the company.

I heard specifically "store manager"-and "a lot more money"-he deserves it. If you divide ASM salary versus number of hours worked, it averages out to be close to minimum wage according to what someone posted here awhile back

What area is this? Ive found nothing about Publix hiring store managers from outside the company - nor are ppl who work there saying they do that. And then to make an ASM from another company a SM? Highly doubtful unless they are completely desperate (no matter how good he is) - he is probably lying.

If you visit the publix store where he says he is the store manager and has his SM badge on - then I'd believe it.
