Dating Policies

What are the exact rules on dating coworkers? Or where can I find them? I am the Overnight lead in a store that does not have an overnight manager. I have been hanging out with one of my ASMs. I really like him and I see something serious coming between us. I will only be with Kroger for another year or so and he is planning on leaving at some point as well. Im wanting to know the rules Kroger has on dating. I know it's definitely frowned upon for a manager to date an associate, but we are both mature adults and if something does come out of it, it would be outside of work only and nobody would know about it. I know some of you are going to hate on this, but honestly, I really don't care. I just want to know the policies so I am aware of it.

Officially, management and associates cannot date and one of you should be moved to another store.

In reality, it all comes down to who you know. In fact I know a couple now married who did this, and made it so obvious they were sleeping together and they are now both promoted...

As other posts stated: employees that date, family members or are married can not work at the same store due to fear of favoritism. Parents or family members may not work at the same store as another family member or employee. Same with dating partners.

 Doesnt apply to all stores.

If they're both male fags, I would report it.

If they're both hot looking females, I would not report it and I would encourage it.

That's not always true. As long as one isn't the boss over the other it's ok if married couples or dating partners, or family members work in the same store. We have a mother/daughter in our department and it's ok because neither is a lead.

It all comes down to your store manager really. If they care, then no. If they don't, then you're good. It's technically "frowned upon" at my store, supposedly, but it happens all the time. Assistant store manager was banging the overnight dairy lady. Another assistant store manager, who was the interim store manager at one point, was banging the lady in charge of drug GM. He was old and married. She was also married (to our union rep actually). He got fired for it. They gave another reason, but we all know that's why. Before him the meat manager was banging her and also got fired for it lol. Another assistant store manager started dating an employee when he was the head of Clicklist. She was 18, and he was like 35. Currently we have the meat manager and bakery/deli manager together. Everybody knows obviously though as they have a baby and live together I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of them at the moment.
