Trying to transfer. store manager says he wont hold me back. Next day sends an email to the other store to transfer to that he has to replace me first.

i ask the union and they confirm that and said there is no timetable on it.

i call the HR supervisor over our entire division and he tells me the Collective Bargaining Agreement states that a transfer cant be blocked if it meets 2 criteria. 1. Store is closer to you than current store. 2. Youve been there over 2 years. Check again. And he tells me that hes going to contact the stores and get the transfer going.

So either the HR coordinator over this entire division is wrong, or my union rep and store manager are in some sort of cahoots together and Im stuck in this lie infest backstab paradise forever. Why is it so hard for people to just tell the truth?

For the HR comment to be true, there has to be a full time bid posted for the store(for your department?) that you want to move to under previous contracts.

I was told that part time employees have to quit and be hired by the other store.  Losing seniority and pay.

I dont think thats true. If the employee has more seniority in and the store is closer to their home, they can bump any less senior employe.

Nothing should hold you back from transferring. I tried to transfer from my main store I started at. I asked the manager to transfer me but denied me the request several times. The store was so short on c.c.'s that they held people there hostage and did every thing to keep them there longer. (That's illegal. It's like a prior employee telling a new company lies to keep you from getting employed. Legally they can be sued for that. It's called discrimination.)  I tried transferring three times and got denied. Kept cursing me and telling me I was no good for that position. Bull $h-it. They just didn't want to waist time to train someone. I gave up and went behind their backs. I went to the store that needed help. (Called first) got them to sign the paper work on the spot and was out like that.  I'm over qualified for most of the grocery duties. You can't be denied a transfer request for any reason. Seniority does play a bit but it shouldn't bump you. You can always file a union grievance if they're holding you back.

You can not bump a less senior employee if you want to transfer.  That's not how seniority is used in the Kroger world.  In the Atlanta division if you attempt to transfer, your current store can only hold you for 2 weeks from transferring to the new store.

I was told to keep an open dialogue by the HR division manager with both store managers. I did that. The store Im going to listened and agreed and that was that. I go to talk to my store manager today and I say Im supposed to keep an open dialogue so Im asking about my transfer. Ive talked to my HR... he flips out. Saying Well! you dont need to talk to me then you Talked to him! And he was walking off the entire time I tried to have a polite conversation like I was told. And i mentioned honestly that Ive tried to talk to him but he keeps lying to me and he just kept walking talking etc etc something smart mouth..

so I went to my last break. I was a bit flabbergasted. I feel like I got that reaction because Im told Im not the first one to mention the constant lying.

I texted the hr manager back And hes going to the store to talk to him today. I let him know what happened. This wouldnt even be a big deal if they were open and honest and not constantly lying over.. and over.. and over.. itd very very aggravating.
