Hey everyone!

So literally a few days ago I was hired to be a courtesy clerk/front end associate and today I started my first full day. Yesterday I completed orientation which was just watching videos and taking quizzes etc. The weird thing is that I clocked in that day with the help of a manager and everything went smoothly. However, since today was my first real day, when I tried clocking in it wouldn't let me and it said that my schedule was not found and that I had to go to a manager for an override or whatever. I do have a paper one however. So my question is...will I still get paid for orientation?  And on top of that when or will this problem just fix itself over time?  Thanks guys and sorry if this doesn't make too much sense.

Also, in regards to my schedule... For the week (up to Saturday) I was just given a paper one and I don't know what to do from there.

Welcome to the kroger machine.  ;)

We are happy to assist you but you would be better off making friends at work and ask them for help with your questions.

The problems are never ending new challenges.  Some get fixed.  Some keep resurfacing.

Speak with the manager that hired you about your schedule for next two weeks.  Or, ask you Acsm.  The Acsm is your department manager.  The hiring manager is normally a store co manager.  Our store has a person that does all the hiring and helps the new employee get settled in until they are in the system.

A new employee is not on the schedule yet, so they were supposed to add your shifts manually so kronos would let you clock in.  Ask the person at the service desk whenever you need an over ride or a store manager.

Ask a co worker to show you where the schedules are posted in the store(normally the break room or near lockers).  You might need to ask the Customer service person what your schedule is for next week.  It takes atleast 2 weeks to get you in eschedule and on a paper schedule.

Take a picture of your schedule if you are able to.

If there is no schedule for next week to be found, generally, you follow your current schedule again.

You always get paid for hours worked.  Orientation and shifts.  Your pay period is from Sunday to Saturday.  I recommend writing down hours at home or on your phone in case something gets lost

in kronos.  Then check your paystub online every week.  15 minute breaks are paid.  30 minute lunch is not paid.

If you need a payroll correction, there should be a book at the service desk to write down the correction in.  Always make all your punches even for breaks.  The Acsm can see that the punches were made and validate them.

Except, good luck with your hours. They will vary so often you will wonder if there is an actual human being on the other end or not. Especially in the summer time, when the teenagers are out of school. However, with this virus bull sh_it, there may be teens working there now. In which case, good luck. Bottom line, watch your hours, take photos of them and screen shots. If you go from 21 hours one week to 13 hours the next don't be surprised. Kroger literally doesn't pay enough to have a living wage. You might want to work there for a bit, get yourself "in the door" then examine the possibility of a second job. that pays more, hopefully.

Yes just fill out an over ride slip. They can manually input it into the computer system. I always double check my paycheck. My last store was so-so but also made several mistakes on our paychecks. My new store is ironically perfect on our paychecks.
