One of those annoying advisories being played over the intercom/radio reminds us every 15 minutes to AVOID MASS GATHERINGS!  Since a crowded, busy Kroger store is nothing less than one big MASS GATHERING, should we all go home?    If Kroger isn't a mass gathering, I don't know what is!

That's why stores are required to limit capacity to 50% of normal with social distancing rules applied. I think they have reduced it in the second stay at home duration to 25% of that for larger stores. My store is in the sticks so we never get enough business to lock doors at max capacity. Holidays or halmark holidays are the only time frames in which we come close enough to close doors and filter people in.

We're not limiting capacity in our store-despite us having the signs posted saying so on our front doors!

Exactly!  Which really means these "capacity numbers" are no more than a Kroger Public Relations phony stunt for the consumption of the gullible media and the gullible public. They are MEANINGLESS!!

You mean IF the next wave hits.  It's people like you and others like Dr. Fauci that have everyone so scared.  If it were up to him, he'd have the country shut down for the next two years.  They all say if you came into contact with someone who came into contact with someone 10 days ago and that person came into contact with someone 10 days before that and that person came into contact with someone 10 days before that and that person came into contact with someoone 10 days before that etc. and that person at the end of the chain had the virus, you could have it too.  If you're going to think like that, you may as well go hide in a hole and not come out.  Even if you are exposed to the virus, your chances of even knowing you have it, unless you get a test, are almost zero.   If you look at the percentages, less than half a percent of the population is even showing signs of the virus.  The death rate is one tenth of that half percent.  They worry about asymptomatic people.  Why?  Because they're worried they might pass the virus to someone else?  We pass all kinds of germs back and forth among each other and never give it a second thought because our immune system does its job properly.  It's the people with the messed up immune systems that are having the problems, and just because someone appears healthy doesn't mean their immune system isn't messed up.  Research should be done on developing a test to see if you're likely to get sick from Covid-19.  Those people can stay home or practice social distancing or wear masks or do whatever but let the rest of world (+99%) get back to normal.  Frankly, I think the whole mask wearing and social distancing bit is just ridiculous.

He'd have it three years and even though we'd hopefully be Trump-less, we'd still be back into the days of the Great Depression.
Why one time I knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy (insert Spongebob meme here...).

What bugs the holy hell out of me is people who treat this as the world of Walking Dead.

"EVERYBODY IS SICK! EVERYBODY HAS IT! EVERYBODY CAN MAKE EVERYBODY ELSE SICKER!!"

AT LEAST in Walking Dead, you don't have to deal with the crap, because you're already dead and you are a mindless zombie ("Walker") out to eat those who kept screaming about social distancing when you were alive and annoyed.

Dr. Fauci is supposedly considered as one of the most knowledgeable people in the world on these kinds of viruses. Yet he couldn't make up his mind on whether people need to wear masks in public. Listen carefully to HIS OWN WORDS three months ago in this video clip (scroll down just a bit on this twitter feed post) ...............and now he's singing a different tune.  People seem to have amnesia on what the experts say and do...................they say to listen to the "EXPERTS" but the experts keep changing their mind on what is right and what is wrong.  The computer models predicting the numbers of sick and dead from Covid19 all have been WAY off, including the first model earlier this year that predicted 2.2 MILLION people dying in the US.                  https://twitter.com/BitSpiro/status/1261074294563454977

The answer is simple.  Up until a couple months ago, no one had even heard of Dr. Fauci.  Now that he's in the news, he wants to extend his 15 minutes of fame by predicting doom and gloom.  Tv meteorologists do the same thing.  They don't care if it's sunny and warm with low humidity.  No, they want to predict and warn people about the big storm.   As soon as something pops up on the radar, they're breaking in on regular programming to warn us about the big storm that's coming.  They can't do it just once either.  No, they have to tell you minute by minute where the storm is heading, where it's been, and whether the winds are straight line winds or rotational.  They really get excited when they can use the term, "Hook Echo".  I was glad when Rand Paul, the Jr. Republican Senator from Kentucky, called Dr. Fauci out on his recommendations.  He's qualified to do so too.  He had the virus and he's doctor too.  His specialty may not be viruses, but he still has a medical degree and is qualified to speak on the subject.x

Pure PR, until they can get Congress to limit their liability.  This is being worked on.

"Customers an associates, please join us in practicing safe sex with those less fortunate, and wash your hands for at least twenty social distancing warehouses."

We've stopped counting. All the door people do now is sanitize handbasket, wipe down checkstands and stand by the door for "appearances." We've had some customers complain to door guys and ask why is counting not being done. They said "because more other things are superseding counting people." They said this politely as possible and all it resulted in was customers leaving their baskets of go backs and walking right back out.
