Honestly, most people don't at Kroger for the pay.  They can't, Kroger is at least the fourth worst paying corporation in America.

They work there because it's convenient in some way or another and government benefits probably make up the difference.

 Reminds me when someone went in the conference room and wrote in big letters on the whiteboard. 

"Kroger sucks K-Mart pays more"

The Manager saw it before a meeting he told be not to erase it. Had the meeting he was laughing and said K-Mart is gonna close next year. Next year came K Mart closed. The winy snot nose wanted to come back to Kroger.
