So: I have a theory about this Covid so-called 'pandemic'; here it is. I fully expect many or even most of you won't agree, and I'm ready in advance to be flamed. I don't mind in advance.

Covid is real; it is making people sick and killing them. True x 3. BUT-------------It is NOT the flying death on greased wheels it has been made out to be. We've been duped by the greatest con I have ever in my life seen (I'm in my 50s, so I've seen a few games---they ain't got $hit on this). But how does all this relate to Kroger in particular, and retail in general?

P R O F I T. Follow the money. Look what's happened with profit:loss since February. Retail has spiked bigger than ever in human history. Keep examining those numbers. Look what's happened to pay roll, employee hours, benefits, human resources, cost of operating overhead, etc. etc.----all slashed. And what is it all blamed on? Covid.

This virus is serious but no more than any other new flu strain that's ever come along. We're being shown all the wrong numbers. Where are all the survival rate figures? Sometimes those stories slip through the propaganda cracks. Meanwhile, for eight months, we're all being fed the same load of bull$hit: 'KEEP YOUR MASKS ON, STAY HOME, DON'T QUESTION ANYTHING......BUT FOR GOD'S SAKES KEEP BUYING ALL THE FOOD LIKE IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!' Cuz ain't that exactly how it's been, even after the initial panic wore off and supplies were returning to normal levels? Ever since this dropped, people have been panic buying in bulk mode. Hence: The greatest retail profits of all time.

And it's not appearing to stop any time soon. Government projections now are tentatively looking at, MAAAAAAYBEEEEE, 2022-23---and they couldn't care less about the growing number of health issues and even DEATHS directly related to long term mask wearing. You really think this isn't a fking con? You're smarter than that. Every instinct in your mind is firing alarms all over this crap, and you know why.

Ok...............Let's read your responses!

Not sure what I think.  I too am in my 50s.

People will always need groceries.  They aren't allowed to do anything else so why not eat.

I wonder if the pandemic was set in motion to disrupt the election year.  Definitely has done a bang up job on this year.

As for the rioting, I am hoping it settles down after the election is settled.

Next year, things will get better or be worse.  Will have to wait and see.

The rioting will be worse after the election regardless of who wins since each side is so polarized!

OP here. How did the riots get into this? They have nothing to do with my point, which is that the One Percenters are capitalizing on this virus situation. That has nothing to do with racial disputes.

Maybe. I've wondered about this a lot myself. The numbers and 'expert knowledge' are all over the place, so you don't know what to believe.

Me, I'm a show me type. I need to see dead bodies piled up and ambulances and funeral cars all over the roads, but we aint seein none of that. Fact is, you don't know anyone with so much as a sniffle from this ****, but we're expected to believe it's the end of the world.

Someone said people are polarized and that the election should change this one way or another. I tend to agree, after Novemeber we're gonna see some big differences. And yea people are polarized, everythings politcal now, EVRERYTHING.

You are CORRECT.  Yes, Covid is serious, it has killed a lot of people BUT the "official number" of 204,000 dead (current numbers)  has been GREATLY OVER-INFLATED.  Thousands of people who died in hospitals who had a number of different conditions and/or diseases but also are Covid positive, will be / are being automatically chalked up as a COVID DEATH. Insurance reasons........more money.    This is happening all over the USA and the world.  The mainstream news PROPAGANDA machine is in full force and they are trying to keep the truth from the American public.

Insurance reasons........more money.    This is happening all over the USA and the world.  The mainstream news PROPAGANDA machine is in full force and they are trying to keep the truth from the American public.

When you put it in percentages, that 204,000 is only .058% of the population.  Don't forget that's over a six month period too.  The stats also say that 7.1 million people in the United States have tested positive for the virus.  Again that's over a period of six months.  If 204,000 died, that's roughly 2.9%.  What about the remaining 97.1%?  When you factor in all the people who had the virus but showed no symptoms and therefore didn't get tested, the survival rate is probably well over 99%.  What they should tell us is how many people currently have the virus.  What makes me mad is when Dr. Fauci shoots down any theory that suggests that the virus is practically harmless to most people and that some people may already be immune to the virus without ever being exposed to it and the only thing that's going to save us is a vaccine.  All the "polls" say everyone trusts Dr. Fauci, but I don't.  With him it's his way or no way.

Getting back to the theory about retail using the virus to increase profits.  The only problem with it is if that were true, they would do a better job with the supply chain and keeping things in stock.  You can't spend money if the store doesn't have what you want.  I think the reason they cut hours is to make up for all that "Hero Pay" they paid us.  Kroger is not going to give away anything for free.  They always find a way to make it up somehow.
