To do a "Code Adam" you have to have associates that actually care. I think there is maybe 1 "Code Adam" practice a year and then nothing afterwards.

People with children get pissed when they find out they can't leave.

One woman called code adam on her high schooler and she was embarrassed as hell. Turns out she just took a long s-h-it in the restroom and didn't tell mom. Bet you she thought twice about that next time.

When I worked in retail one of the things that disgusted me about people is how many of them truly don't care about their kids. Just walk off and leave them, or let them run off to...where ever. It's all a game of 'I don't care what you do, leave me alone and let me shop.'

Not uncommon to see toddlers staggering about, with mommy or gram-mommy literally FIFTY YARDS away. This is how human monsters steal children that are never heard of again.

I HATE it when people walk a "football field" like distance from their kid, usually a toddler and expect them to keep up. I mean 'What the f*cking fu*k?!?" The kid is doing the best he/she can and you walk and just say "come on." And then TRY and get upset at us when we dont watch YOUR child!
I have NOTHING against toddlers in general. Even the hellspawn ones. But when you have a child, YOU, NOT US, are responsible. If you are unwilling or unable to take on that responsibility keep your legs closed, your penis in the pants, or put the child up for adoption.

When I was little and went to stay with my Grandmother she used to make us stay in the car. This was at the downtown Piggly Wiggly. But that is unsafe these days.

Exactly. My uncle said he and his sisters use to stay out at night and play in the park without worry of being taken. He said the worst thing to worry about was the occasional skunk that walked a bit too close to you.

I grew up in the '70s and we went everyone without parental supervison.  As long as you were home for supper and again when it was time to get ready for bed your were fine.  It was like the Peanuts cartoons.

Oh sure.  The kid was found before the announcement, which made it quite entertaining.

At first, it was "What the hell is a Code Adam?"

Hours later, it was "We found that kid yet?"

We had a few drills years ago.  Don't bring little kids here.  Trying to protect children in this idiot chaos is a bad bet.
