Either our government from the top on down better radically change their entire approach to stopping covid, or we're all fked for an unforeseeably long time to come.

I go into the Krogers in my town, and the first thing I see are the hand baskets all stacked up and ready for use, one customer after another grabbing them up. With their bare hands. No one cleaning them. Front end staff retirning them after use. With their bare hands. No one cleaning them.

The point is, we could all wear iron helmets and medieval knight face plates but with all this skin exposure it doesn't fking matter. I don't know the answers, but it sure ain't the masks.

Um,you cant catch covid through your skin ,if you think you can then you obviously have no clue about human biology. So what if baskets are returned without being sanitized ?If a customer wants a basket to be sanitized then they can do it themselves , we are tired of this crap we should just go back to living life like normal without masks.

You always had to take the naps in kndergarten, didn't you? Couldn't break the graham crackers evenly down the middle and were pissing yourself during Story Time biggrin

You really need this explained? Hands and fingers are always up around the mucosal tissues of your face. The Hence, viral transmissions.

A little research first before you TRY to slam someone, fkhead.

Wow, starting with insults because you can't think of anything logical to say sound really mature mateno. You aren't supposed to touch your face anyways so that doesn't matter ,all you have to do is stop picking your nose all the time(haha sounding like you nowbiggrin).Go tell your mommy someone on the internet made you cry and she'll help your emotional boo boo. When you grow up hopefully you'll learn to be more mature and not insult people just because they think differently than you because that is a very ignorant thing for you to do.Have a good day and stop insulting people, kid.

I been thinking this exactly since all this started. At first everybody was supposed to wear gloves but that went away. (not that they do any good either cause unless u change em out all the time you got the same problem your hands are always all around your face) This whole thing is stupid the mortality rates are still barely 1 % its no worse that nany new flu bug, it just effects different categories harder. We're not gonna stop it its gonna have to run its course. Gvtmt needs to stop using Soviet mentality on us.

The problem is they assumed that everybody was going to react the same way to the virus.  When that didn't happen, they started throwing around the word, "asymptomatic" just so they could still be right.  Here's my take on it.  Yes, the virus is dangerous for some people.  However, if I were one of those people in a high risk group,  I would make it my responsibility and mine alone to make sure I didn't catch the virus.  It's not up everybody else.  It's up to me.  I'll even go a step further.  If I was going to be in contact with someone in a high risk group, I would take steps to protect them.  I and millions of other people don't fit into either one of those categories.

Here's a question I have about restaurant and bar closures.  If they close restaurants and bars because they say that's where the virus is being passed, how do they know that the people who caught the virus didn't catch it from someone within their own group?  If that's the case, then the fact the people were together in a restaurant has nothing to do with the spread of the virus.  They didn't get the virus from the restaurant.  They got it due to the fact they were together.  From what I've read, contact tracing has been a complete failure.  None of the organizations are using the same method.  They're not communicating with each other.  They're not asking people the right questions.  The whole thing is a disaster.

I like that people are waking up to the idiocy and political agendas of this thing and are at least asking questions now. We're not going to stop the spread of this virus, but if we don't stop our government from making prisoners of us, we're all fked. This country is perilously close to being a comunist party dictatorship, and those are always started the same ways for the same reasons: 'FOR THE GOOD OF THE REPUBLIC'.

We may start getting vaccinated in the summer.  Until then it really is up to each of us.

We are pretty badly screwed.

OK, here's the thing...I have the COVID...I've had it for four weeks now...Some people get over it in a couple weeks and they're fine...My doctor says that for others, it can take from 3 to 6 weeks or longer...And no one knows what the after-effects of this COVID will be for some...I was the one telling everyone to be careful! I was the one who was the "mask police" to my friends and co-workers! Be careful not to catch it? THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I DID!!! I took responsibility!!! You know what??? I STILL GOT IT!!! While it could be worse than I expected, it hasn't been as easy as I expected, either...This thing is absolutely NO FUN and quarantining is just about driving me crazy, but I have to stay quarantined as I do have family in the high risk group...Most of the people who are catching it now have no idea HOW they acquired it...For me, it could have been a co-worker, but it also could have been a customer...Or from somewhere else! I don't know...Maybe one bad move...and just like that, COVID!!! The bottom line is this...Don't automatically assume you can't catch the virus, even if you're totally careful...I think limiting hours at the stores and only having a certain number of people come in may be part of the answer...We just can't have uncontrolled crowds rushing in to panic buy...Also, keep in mind that many other countries have followed better procedures and their COVID rates aren't as bad...That said, many others either didn't care, didn't have the knowledge or didn't have the resources to control this virus and now you see things getting out of hand across the globe...Of course, WE'RE screwed, but that doesn't mean that others haven't found a better way to deal with the virus...And for the foreseeable future, we're all going to have to do what's necessary until a vaccine comes...Remember, this is nothing new...We've had plagues and pandemics before and NOBODY'S freedom was taken away...If you ask me, it's a lot of baloney and disinformation from scared people who don't know their history...Did Communism enter America in 1918 when the flu had everyone wearing masks? Did the world end in the Middle Ages? I didn't think so...Read a little and get informed, people!

The longer this thing stretches out the more people I'm meeting or reading about who are experiencing or have gone through this. I'm sorry you got this sht but it only confirms what I've been saying all along: MASKS DON'T WORK. If they did, by your own admission, you wouldn't be sick.

This thing is simply going to have to run its course. Many people will die, but that's because you are not going to home stay everybody in the world. That would be the only hope of completely stopping it----but all it would take is one Patient Zero to catch it, pass it along and re start the whole ball game. I.e., it ain't hap'nin', cap'n.

As for learning from history that 'this is not how communism starts', yes and no. Covid is unprecedented for this, true. But communism and socialism always start from the identical model covid has brought on us. It always starts with a government fabricating or exploiting a public scare................and then saying 'See? You must comply with us for the good of the people!' Beyond that, they don't need to do anything else, the terrified masses will lynch mob anyone they see or sense resisting. In 1927 Germany they used the failed economy as the scare motivator.. By 1930 they had convinced the people the failure was the Jew's fault. It went very badly from there no

Me? Ima keep living my life the way I have always lived my life: FREE. I'll comply to the extent it serves my purposes, and I'll do my best not to harm anyone---I've always lived my life that anyway, as well----but I wasn't born into a communistic country, and I won't live and die in one either. biggrin

As far as I can tell, this is still America, not Russia...And still a democracy...And I still think our president could have done a lot more to stem the tide of this thing...For one, he could have not been so nonchalant about it...Even now, he's more concerned about his loss and election "fraud" than he is about the thousands of people dying from COVID around the world and here in our own country! AND...Until we get a vaccine, we're going to have to take all the proper precautions...This is not just about you and me...Hospitals just do not have enough staff and resources to deal with the rising number of COVID cases...And a lot of those cases are from people who never thought they would get it and are finding out just how stupid they were to ignore it and go maskless...Hospital workers, doctors and nurses are catching this thing and the less of them there are out there due to their own coronavirus quarantining, the less of them there will be when the hardest hit people need them, too! The only way out of this is to wear the masks and follow the social distancing...While they are not foolproof, they are the best way to control this virus right now...There are countries beating this thing, too...Look at Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Vietnam and Thailand, for example...Their numbers have gone DOWN! And there are many more countries!

https://www.endcoronavirus.org/countries#winning

And here we are, still fighting this damn thing!!!evileye

All I know is that we MUST do better...Or it's only gonna get worse!no

Don't believe me? Wait till the year is over (that is, after Thanksgiving and Christmas) and get back to me on how we fixed this crisis...

Uh NO. The vaccines are real. They've been pre-manufactured, they just need the green light from FDA.  Everyone has known since at least April covid was a thing and how to avoid getting it.  Who do you think told you to wash you hands, avoid unnecessary outings, wear a mask and stay 6 ft apart? That would be this president you say was "nonchalant" ... did you expect him to be out there panicking you 24/7? Give me a f'ing break. What did you governor do? Your local officials?  The president did his part.  He invested in research, testing, equipment, in protective gear including the masks Kroger supplies us or did you miss Rodney at the White House in the spring or early summer? The president preached personal responsibility. Do you expect him to tell you how to wipe your ass? Come on man!

The problem I'm seeing is all the f'ing stupid young people are carriers. They are irresponsible ass wipes hooking up, having their parties, not wearing masks. I don't think it's coincidence so many college students have gotten it.

Kroger's not doing anything to address this.  I'm not allowed to be mask police.  I seriously want to smack the living crap out of these people when I'm forced to interact. When I see people in cash offices without a mask or in fuel kiosks without a mask I want to punch their faces. I'm around you all, get it together. Follow policy.  Who is even doing temperatures?  I literally take just a handful a day.

If we're not doing what you should be doing at work, not following policy, why are be whining about the president?

He's 100% right and I think us being around the public during covid the whole time proves we can get back to work and stay at work and not let covid paralyze us with fear.  It's not even deadly for the vast majority of people. Now that the election is over I full expect the fear mongers will begin to retire.

They ARE NOT beating it. At least in Australia, & NZ. They are locked down tight. NZ had been for months and they've still managed to get cases. None of those countries can compare with the population we have in this country any way

Vaccines are real??? Sure, they're real...We just DON'T HAVE them yet!!! And many more people will die before the end of the year because of this and the stupidity and ignorance of people everywhere...Young people having parties? I personally know of an older family friend, a Trump supporter and religious Fox News watcher (Hannity, Gutfeld, Carlson, etc.) who says she is gonna have 13-14 people over for Thanksgiving...She is against wearing masks, governor mandates and says she KNOWS her family and they won't get this thing...Next thing you know, she'll be calling me later after the holiday saying she got the virus...And I'm gonna resist REALLY HARD not to tell her "I told you so!"...Heck, Donald's son, Donald Trump, Jr. even has the stupid virus...

https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/20/politics/donald-trump-jr-coronavirus/index.html

Don Jr.'s father had the gall to hold rallies on TV without masks even though he himself had the virus...He even took his mask off to show his nonconformism to the rules...And I don't have a problem with HIM being a nonconformist, because it's nonconformists who often change the world...When you lead others to believe that they, too, can be nonconformist and not follow simple health guidelines, that's when it becomes a problem...He might as well not be washing his hair, brushing his teeth or using bandages when he gets cuts!!! He could say "Who needs these things??? I don't have to take care of myself if I don't want to! Of course, I think he's too vain for that...The problem is (and back to the virus)...Not everyone has the same symptoms...What's good for you may not be good for others! How about thinking about other people for a change???

By the way, I didn't expect him to be panicking, but I expected him to have his Coronavirus task force out front and center, giving us the latest advice...Every day on TV if need be...Now, he's just sulking in his bunker and still hasn't officially conceded the election...You know what??? I'm over him right now...He'll probably end up in jail after Jan. 20 anyway...There are quite a few lawsuits, esp. in New York, that could derail his future prospects...Who knows, but a narcissist like that who doesn't care that numbers are rising everywhere and that hospitals still don't have enough resources...Well...He's been officially CANCELLED in my book!evileye

Oh, and we really CAN'T get back to work...The economy, sadly, will not get fixed...unless...wait for it...WE FIX THE COVID CRISIS!!! It's as simple as that!!! Restaurants and movie theaters will still remain shuttered or have limited hours or services...We are gonna be dealing with this for a long time to come...If Joe Biden is right, a 'long dark winter" is in store for us...But, the President can party all he wants while in office...Go ahead, my fellow Americans, have that Thanksgiving dinner...WOO HOO!!!yawn

Ummm...No thank you, Mr. President...no

Yes, but I'm not specifically talking about POPULATION...I'm talking about PANDEMIC PREPAREDNESS...You remember when Obama was dealing with H1N1 and then, that Ebola crisis that spread from Liberia and infected the entire United States?

OK, I shouldn't have to repeat this, but here goes...again!no

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/10/30/science/wear-mask-covid-particles-ul.html

By the way, what's wrong with masks??? Batman, Robin and The Lone Ranger all wore one, so why are WE so scared??? There are also Spider-Man, Iron Man, Deadpool, Green Lantern, Darth Vader, etc. I could go on and on, but you get the idea...Asians have been wearing them for years and they're not crying foul, so what's the deal???

Why are we so afraid of one little face covering???

Masks do not work. Several studies have proven that, but the media and government bury them because it goes against their plan of controlling people.

OK, I shouldn't have to repeat this, but here goes...again!no

Masks are isolating.  We can't see if people are happy or sad or angry etc.  If you're wearing a mask, you're hiding part of yourself from others.  When that happens, people can't make social and emotional connections.

N-95 masks may be effective at stopping the virus but regular cloth masks that 99.9% of the people are wearing are not.  The experiments where they have somebody sneeze with and without a mask only show the visible particles that are stopped by the mask.  The diameter of a human hair is 400 to 1000 times larger than the Covid-19 virus.  A covid virus can pass through a cloth mask as easily as a housefly flies through an open window.
