Nashville D1 Looking for (Suckers) Store Managers again..

They are looking for Store Managers again as usual - they burn through them using them as scapegoats for all the issues that their CEO, area executives, and DM's cause. They bring SM in,  (Because their ASM are either not good enough or too smart to take the job) use them for a few months, and then fire them or force them to resign blaming all the issues them.

If an HR head hunter comes for you - do NOT believe their lies. They don't care about you at all - they just need a head/body to keep their own jobs.  They will bring you in, do not Kroger train you, throw you to wolves, and give you metrics to hit that are completely impossible and never enough. You will also be tormented by their bi-polar DM's. No matter how good you are, how good the store is running - they will always want more. You will be working 6-7 days a week if you hope to keep your job there - and that won't be good enough either.

So if you have been called by their lying HR and they are trying to recruit you, and you are searching the internet looking for info on that area, there is a lot of poor reviews by former and current management to be found (Check indeed.com also) - You have been warned.

I don't know if you're for real or not, but I was in salaried management for a couple of retail giants. A lot of what you described rings familiar. Especially the part about HR just covering their asses and not caring about the results. It's amazing to me some of these companies still operate. They won't much longer if this continues.

The Amazon affect is going to vastly change the playing field for everyone, much more so than it already has. It's going to become a bloodbath where a LOT of people---mostly hourlies---are going to lose their jobs. This will be particularly bad for Walmart employees, as WM is still the biggest employer in the private sector. I'm trying to encourage as many people as I can to get out of retail altogether and get some needed job market skills, because it's about to get very ugly.

"Don't know if you are real or not" - 100% real. I've also managed stores for multiple companies. If you have very good grocery experience and skill you are not going to be without a job anytime soon (though companies are looking to cut labor more and more..) - You might have to work for amazon in the end (Though WM is doing very well in the grocery dept and moving in that direction more and more), but ppl are always going to need an adequate number of human employees who know food.

They hire more for a short time to deal with a crisis and then adjust labor expenses once that crisis and all the extra cash coming in from customers dissipates. Kroger generally runs skeleton crews - into an early grave..

Long term ppl? They are always screwing them over as soon as they start making too much money or area's are not able to meet metrics that Rodney needs to cover his lies to shareholders. So - don't be surprised if Kroger doesn't meet its next quarterly goals they fire more "long term managment"
