Reportedly will be used for storage for a while, then shuttered.  East South St. and North Los Coyotes Diagonal.  Employees will not be getting unemployment benefits because transferred.

""The irreparable harm that has come to employees and local citizens is a direct result of the City of Long Beach's attempt to pick winners and losers and is deeply unfortunate," says Kroger.

Next stores to close will be in City of Los Angeles.  5420 W. Sunset, 9616 W. Pico and 3300 W. Slauson.

I'm guessing these locations were already in the red or barely making any money. The city forcing businesses to add another $40k-$80K a month in expenses isn't going to keep any business open. If the hazard pay was necessary, why didn't the city force all businesses be required to provide it? This issue is another supply and demand issue, along with OSHA work place requirements. Why are police, firefighters, nurses not paid extra?

Oh.....why wasn't this pay law passes 6-8 months ago? Don't we know a little more?

That looks like a Food 4 Less. My niece lies in Visalia, California. Google maps shows a Food 4 Less , North Dinuba Boulevard, Visalia, CA. She told me that Google Maps shows the store open. But it has been closed since they moved there in 2019. It even has recent reviews but sometimes people post reviews for the wrong store. She said the closet one was Tulare California. I guess Kroger is closing Food 4 Less stores.

In a report from fox business (here) we get this little gem:

"The mandate will add an additional $20 million in operating costs over the next 120 days, making it financially unsustainable to continue operating the three underperforming locations," Kroger said in a statement.

I wonder why these stores are unsustainable. Could it be the lacks way kroger just lets people walk out the door with product? The horrible investment in tech? The poor scheduling of workers? or one of the million other things the incompetence at the top do on a daily ****ing basis.
