Federal Minimum wage
Permalink

I hear it is gonna go up and not take a few years. How true is this? And if someone is a department Manager making $12.00 and hour are they gonna make over minimum wage?

I feel like people that already make over minimum wage when it goes to $15.00 everyone is gonna want a raise.

Also what the hell was going on today? I went to Kroger and there was like 3 customer service supervisors. I heard the SCO person ask them why all three was there today.

I saw the utility clerk doing his job doing a store sweep. I saw him talking on his walkie saying "I'm doing one now" so they must have been babbling about a store sweep.

Then when I got to self checkout is when I saw the 3 supervisors walking in the front door with clipboards. Must have been expecting "Company". Maybe they are getting extra tight if they are gonna have to pay $15.00 now.

Federal minimum wage does not mean federal job.

If the Federal Min. Wages increases, hope your contact is also getting redone. The company will just move everyone that is below the min. wage to that wage, regardless of what being new, long term..etc. Also, if the min. wage does increases, don't expect the pay scale to have a large range. Department Leaders might make mid-twenties, but clerks well top out at something under $20 an hour. If they do allow clerks to make over $20, expect even fewer hours.....

I dont see raises beyond what the contract states if the federal minimum goes up to $15 an hour. Expect your groceries to cost more too.

If min wage goes up, contract or no contract, Kroger had NO choice whatsoever than to pay min wage. However, be prepared to have more duties added onto your assignments that are worth MORE than the min wage increase.

What?  You're silly.

People already make more than minimum wage.  Ten cents more; haven't you been paying attention?

What do you think this is, McDonald's?  Rodney needs a marina for all his yachts.

I asked today and I was told it has not gone up. And yes it is still $7.25 and most places pay more but don't start people off at $15.00. I am sure it's gonna happen and get pushed through may be over the next month.

If the federal minimum wage rises to 15/hour, expect the price of EVERYTHING that you purchase to rise substantially, and for several million jobs to be lost and many more reduced to part-time with no benefits. A fast food burger will be $10 or more and probably cooked by a robot, and who will hire kids for summer jobs at that price? Another brilliant idea brought to you by the Biden administration!

Maybe the fat asses will lose weight with hamburgers costing that much
