Okay....I do not have any insurance, I've worked at my job for 14 years. Can I still get a leave of absence without insurance??

You can take loa from this job for any reason. I know a lot of people who work less hrs to get insurance but still go on loa. if you do go longer than one month and you work enough hrs for insurance your insurance over laps by +1 month. Just do 16 hrs weekly for health insurance for single person 20 to be safe. 60 or 80 hrs a week for family.

and what is the reason not to do it? I know many who have encountered this problem, so I would solve this issue in the near future, for your own restful sleep

Depends if the store likes you or not.

If the store likes you, you can wave a golden doctor's note and only show up when you want to get paid.

If they don't, there's a dangerous risk of making more money at McDonald's or Walmart.
