Department Transfer
Permalink

I currently work Front-End for a Kroger in Illinois. I've been wanting to cross-train in another (cooler) department or be transferred to one, as I don't fare well with heat. I talked to my managers a few times about cross-training/transferring, and have yet to get any meaningful response one way or another from them. Yet somehow, another, newer canidate was recently transferred from Front End to another department. How should I go about this if I would like transferred?

You gotta be persistent and just become annoying till they do it. When you tell them you want to transfer make yourself heard loud and clear as in it needs to happen now. Remember they dont care so annoy them till it happens

If you are a good worker, it's too difficult to replace you, so you are trapped.

It might also be a good idea to start putting applications in elsewhere.  It's not like you're going to make any less money.
