Want out of the front end? Push for it. It'll happen.

Like many of you I'm sick of the front end. Yes it's where our income comes from but I'm tired of the belittlement it brings and verbal harassment endured. I've been pushing managers for hours in other areas of grocery and I'm finding my self with fewer and fewer cashiering shifts. If you have weight restrictions no problem just do what I do and only place your self in positions where you can't lift more than 30 lbs. Do it subtly and no one will know. I find my self happier on weeks I don't spend 40 hrs in the friggen check stand. It drives me spare when customers with one or two items won't use the friggen shelf check. That's not what I get paid for. At night after 8 pm I won't even be in the register for this very reason. I'll scan an item every 15 min to keep my numbers active but that's it. I'm tired of this game.

I transferred to the Fuel Center due to harassment in the front end. I was at the front end for almost 8 years. The union got involved and it got ugly. Kroger doesn't know how close they came to a lawsuit!

Eh.  Might as well make more money at Target or McDonald's or Walmart or something.

Good employees will never get off of the front end because it's too difficult to replace them, and especially now with the wage crisis.

Bad employees get their pick of departments if the union isn't too busy swimming in kiddie pools full of gold and silver bullion.
