Pray for Collierville TN Kroger
Permalink

Please keep this store in your thoughts and prayers. It is the Kroger on New Byhalia and W Poplar Ave in Collierville, Tennessee.

Just before 1pm Central today, there was an active shooter situation. Very little details on the event right now. I have heard from an unconfirmed source that multiple people were injured in this event.

My heart goes out to those affected by this terrifying event.

There have been at least 13 shot, and one victim who has died (at this time -- I'm posting this at 5:33 pm Eastern time).    The shooter killed himself, plus one person had died from their injuries.

That is horrible. Hopefully they shut down for the rest of the day out of respect and to figure things out.

This is terrible! First King Soopers in Colorado and now this...

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/1-dead-14-hurt-in-shooting-at-kroger-grocery-store-police/ar-AAOKOke?li=BBnb7Kz

It seems like these events just keep happening and customers and employees alike are left scarred and scared...

And then, they (whether it be politicians, the media or the public) talk about guns or mental health for a minute, and then, back to business as usual...

So sad...

Blame the managers. They just knit pick on employees about the dumbest things like its a real treat for them to talk to people any way they want.

The law enforcement people will be mystified about why this might have happened (or say they are), just as they are unaware of problems beforehand. Make a record of complaints, guys. Public enemies like kroger should.not be let off the hook.

One customer DID die-in the news reports they showed an employee (?) up on the roof-how did they get there? I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to get on top of ours!

What department did he work in? This isn't the first time a fired/disgruntled employee decided to take people out with guns. This begs the question: What are Kroger's policies on FIRED employees coming back to their former stores?

Huh? Policy? Like what? Not being allowed back in the store? Why? And as if that would stop a shooting? Is this like believing that putting up a no guns sign makes you safe? Murder is already illegal. For all the good it'll do... As much good as prayers are gonna do.  / eye roll

No hopes, no prayers, no hearts out.  Was that even an entire magazine?  Sounds like it wasn't even good shooting.  That's not how you get a high score.

There's not an hour on the clock when I don't fantasize about burning and shooting until SWAT gets me.  And that would be a glorious few hours.  Those guys really take their time.  It's embarrassing.

I don't because I have family and friends who care about me, and I might even be able to afford a hooker if I get a significantly better job.

But a lot of people don't or can't.  If anything, it's bizarre this doesn't happen every week, let alone every day.

One customer DID die-in the news reports they showed an employee (?) up on the roof-how did they get there? I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to get on top of ours!

Almost every combination lock for every single store... is the store number.  If there's a mysterious ladder in the GM back room (or combo lock anywhere), there you go.  But it probably has an alarm.

One of the news reports (don't remember where I read this) stated the man on the roof was a maintenance person working on the air conditioning system, and was already on the roof when this started.  He might not have been an actual Kroger employee?  Someone please update this if you can find the true story. Thanks!

 Sushi

And see? Here's the thing...Out of all the employees (or in this case third-party vendor), NO ONE...and I mean NO ONE would ever suspect the sushi guy...EVER! That's how unsettling this all is...And one customer had to die and all those employees and customers injured, with some still in the hospital...
