im new and on my schedule for monday it says 6-10 but beside it has a blue star and under it has zero hours. I usually work 5-10 as of last week which was my first full week so im still a little confused on why im working 6 to 10 and not 5 to 10 and what the blue abstract mean beside it.

The blue "*" normally means that you are schedule as something besides your primary position (like a cashier being scheduled as a courtesy clerk) for part of your shift (could be for a half hour or the entire shift, both will show the *), then the zero hours is probably because you are under "training" or something outside regular store department hours

Regular hours aren't really a thing at Kroger.  Not even if your department has regular hours.

Kroger is absolutely terrible at hiring and scheduling,

Talk to management about it.  They might not be able to help you, but there's a chance they aren't incompetent.

Agree, if hiring is such an issue, why haven't they figured people want set schedules or at least the same shift length.  It really isn't that hard to figure out, most people don't care what day off in the week, as long as its mostly consistent...... YES, its can be done!

You're definitely new-new. * means not your primary assigned location. If you were say hired in as a cashier that will be your primary job duty. If it has an * next to it you should already know that you will be doing another job duty that day. Let's say you cashier 1-2 days a week but pick up hrs in haba, floral and replenishment. They will tell you what you are working.
