New hires: how was your experience?

Mainly permissions required for "background checks" and drug tests, arbitration agreements, and the like.  Got any copies to share?

Drug tests aren't a thing anymore outside of -extreme- misconduct.  But in all fairness, you'd pretty much have to be high to want to work for Kroger.

Background checks have always been a monumental problem since Kroger won't even conduct them until the employees have already been working for a month or two.

I don't think Kroger is competent enough to even have anyone sign arbitration agreements.  It's dead end minimum wage labor for children and retards.

There's no copies.  Kroger continues to misfile everything ever while they struggle to find enough functioning VHS tapes and functioning VCR's to play "Give 'em the pickle!".

I was intrigued enough by this to check it out. Turns out the guy behind it is a pretty great motivational speaker; neither his ideas or presentation style are original, but he's still entertaining.

But.

The whole concept of 'service the customer' died long ago, probably along with Sam Walton. Retail giants don't give a sh!t about it any more. They know that no matter how much customers bitch they're gonna keep coming back no matter what, because that's part of what we've been sheeped into doing in this culture.

Accountants long ago ran numbers on how much free pickles cost and determined it's cheaper to lose a customer or two than give away free inventory. That's where retail is today. no
